Diese Medaille erinnert an die holländische Bitte an Königin Elisabeth, aktive Hilfe bei der Revolte gegen Spanien zu leisten. Sie stellte schliesslich eine Truppe zur Verfügung, die von Robert Dudley, einem ihrer engsten Vertrauten, angeführt wurde (er wurde oft für den möglichen Gemahl gehalten). Letztendlich erwies sich die Expedition als Fehlschlag.
