Behind battlements on top; stands a guard to l., holding spear in r.; on left, an aquila erect; behind him a pediment. 7.60 g. RIC 36. C. 45. Calico 362. Rare. Removed mount. Very fine.

The reverse alludes to the fact that Claudius was raised to emperor by the Praetorian Guard.
