Taler o. J. (about 1565). Altdorf Crowned double eagle surrounded by the three shields of arms. Rev. St. Martin as bishop on throne with crozier and mitra. 28.54 g. Wielandt 26. HMZ 2-953a. Davenport 8763. Very rare. Good very fine/Very fine to extremely fine. Small collector's punch in edge.

Pistole n. d. (1635). Cross of lilies over the small arms of Uri. Rev. St. Martin on horseback, the beggar to his feet. 6.42 g. D.T. 1192. HMZ 2-982b. Fr. 398. Extremely rare in this exceptional quality. Almost uncirculated. In places unregular planchet and weak strike (normal for this type).

The pistoles of Uri with no date (1635) are often heavily cieculated and badly struck. This specimen is much above average and in exceptionally attractive conservation.

Nikolaus Schiner, 1497-1499 Dicken n. d. (1497-1499). Shield of arms with arms of Schiner, sword, mitra and crozier above. Rev. St. Theodul gazing at Devil on the ground, holding a bell. 9.73 g. Palézieux 25. HMZ 2-1017a. Very rare and in outstanding conservation. Good extremely fine. Partially weakly struck.

Matthäus Schiner, 1499-1522 Schwerer Guldiner 1501. In weight of 4 Dicken. So-called Mass Taler. MATEVS · EPS · SEDV PREF ET · CO · VALES as Legend around the arms of Schiner. On the outside circle of shields of arms with 17 small shields. Rev. PRECIBVS : S : THEODOLI : DIMISSA : EST · CVLPA · CAROLI +. The Saint in bishop's habit and with shouldered sword, kneeling before altar with liturgical objects. Behind the altar an angel with scroll, on the other side behind the sword, the Devil with shouldered bell. Date below. 38.92 g. Palézieux 81 (essai en argent). HMZ 2-1020b, Anm. Of great rarity. Taler 1773. So-called Gessner-Taler. A lion to right with shouldered sword, holding shield of arms. Rev. Sword, palm and laurel branches bound by a flowers wreath on a console. Divo 34. HMZ 2-1194m. Fr. 498. Of great rarity. Only 19 specimens minted. Extremely fine-uncirculated. Lightly cleaned.

A small cross is punched into the Swiss cross on the reverse. This as a sign that the coin is made from Gondo gold.

100 Francs 1925. Bern Vreneli bust to l. before mountain panorama. Rv. Divided value unter radiant Swiss cross. Below the date above a branch of alpine roses. 71.16 g. Divo 359. HMZ 2-1193a. Fr. 502. Extremely rare in this condition. Outstanding uncirculated (NGC MS66). Cabinet piece.

As of the present NGC has graded only 7 pieces (ours included) in MS66. There is no other piece with a higher grading.

Value above, date below with Mmk. B for Bern. 25.01 g. Divo 380. HMZ 2-1199g. Very rare. Proof. Brilliant uncirculated. Cabinet piece. Splendid conservation.

The emission of 24'000 pieces is relatively low, however only few coins came into circulation. It was known that three years later a new type would be placed in circulation and the large 5 francs pieces would be withdrawn.

The 5 francs pieces of 1928 in pure nickel with smooth edge exist in probably only 5 to 10 specimens.
