In r. hand globus cruciger, in l. hand cruciform sceptre. Rev. Crowned facing busts of his deceased father Michael II on l. and his deceased son Constantinus. Both wear chlamys. Crowned facing bust of Theodora in loros, in r. hand globus with patriarchal cross, in l. hand cruciform sceptre. Rev. Crowned busts of Michael III on l. and his sister Thecla on r. Michael is wearing chlamys and holding globus cruciger in r. hand. Thecla is wearing loros and holding long patriarchal cross in r. hand. 4.41 g. Sear 1686. DOC 1d2. Very rare. Well struck and centered. Very attractive specimen. About uncirculated.

Basil I the Macedonian, 867-886, with Constantinus. Solidus 868/879, Constantinopolis. Obv. Figure of Christ enthroned to front with cross nimbus, pallium and colobium. He raises his r. hand in benediction and holds the book of Gospels in l. hand. Rev. Crowned bust of Basil I in loros facing on l. Crowned bust of Constantinus in chlamys on r. facing. Together they hold between them a long patriarchal cross. 4.37 g. Sear 1704. DOC 2a. Extremely fine.

Alexander, 912-913. Solidus 912/913, Constantinopolis. Obv. Christ with cross nimbus enthroned facing and wearing pallium and colobium. His r. hand is raised in benediction. The book of Gospels in l. hand. Rev. Crowned figure of Alexander standing facing, wearing divitision and loros, in r. hand globus cruciger. His l. hand is extended to St. Alexander on r. who stands 3/4 facing to l., wearing pallium and colobium. He crowns the emperor with his r. hand and holds cross in l. hand. 4.20 g. Sear 1737. DOC 2. Extremely rare. About extremely fine.

Constantinus VII, 913-959, with Romanus II, 945-959. Solidus 945, Constantinopolis. Obv. Nimbate facing figure of Christ seated on high backed throne with curved arms decorated with pearls. He is wearing pallium and colobium; his r. hand raised in benediction. Book of Gospels in left hand. Rev. Crowned facing busts of Constantinus VII and Romanus II, both holding a patriarchal cross between them. Constantinus in loros, Romanus in loros. 4.37 g. Sear 1750. DOC 14. Very fine.
