Rv. *POTOSSI*ANO*1726*EL PEERV* Krone über Säulen aus Wellen, darin die Schrift P-8-Y/PLV-SVL-TRA/Y-716-P. 25.48 g. Cayon vgl. 10123. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser aussergewöhnlichen Ausprägung / Very rare, especially in this extraordinary condition. Typische Lochung / Usual hole. Gutes sehr schönes Exemplar / Good very fine specimen. (~€ 5265/USD 6060) Louis I. wurde im Januar 1724 zum König von Spanien ernannt, als sein Vater Philipp V. zu seinen Gunsten abdankte. Kurz darauf erkrankte er an Pocken und starb im August desselben Jahres. Mit etwas mehr als sieben Monaten gilt seine Herrschaft als eine der kürzesten in der spanischen Geschichte. Nach seinem Tod kehrte Philipp V. auf den Thron zurück, anstatt diesen seinem zweiten Sohn Ferdinand VI. Zu überlassen, der damals elf Jahre alt war. Philipp V. regierte bis zu seinem eigenen Tod im Jahre 1746 und erst dann folgte Ferdinand VI. Obwohl Ludwig I. 1724 nur für kurze Zeit König von Spanien war, prägte die Münze von Potosi Stücke mit den Jahreszahlen 1725, 1726 und 1727 in seinem Namen. Die Fortsetzung dieser Prägung hatte seinen Ursprung zum einen in der grossen zeitlichen Verzögerung bis die Nachricht vom Tode schliesslich in Südamerika eintraf und zum anderen in der Tatsache, dass erst gerade 1725 neue Prägestempel angefertigt wurden.
