Quinarius 87. Rome DOSSEN Bearded head of Neptune to r., trident over shoulder. Rev. Victory standing to r., holding wreath and palm branch before garlanded altar with snake coiled around the top. 1.87 g. Cr. 348/4. Syd. 708. Good very fine.
Details
There is an allusion to Aesculapius on the reverse. In 87 a plague broke out and devastated the armies opposed to Marius.
