The rarest variant of the rare type small head type in outstanding quality and probably the best known specimen. A cabinet piece. Since Bitkin has no illustration of the reverse and gives the note I&T, 27 (8 roubles), we assume that the coin was not available to Bitkin and he included it in his catalogue because of the 1910 Iljin&Tolstoy catalogue where it appears under 27. Thus this coin was considered reported, not confirmed until it appeared in this catalogue.
