Bei dieser Platinprägung handelt es sich um eine zeitgenössische Nachahmung, die durch staatliche Münzbeamte geprägt worden ist. Der Preis für Platin betrug gegen Ende des 18. und in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts nur etwa 20% des Goldpreises. Die so geprägten Platinstücke wurden vergoldet und zusammen mit den regulären Goldmünzen des gleichen Typs in Verkehr gebracht.

This issue in platinum is a contemporary imitation minted by state mint officials. The price of platinum at the end of the 18th century and in the first half of the 19th century was only about 20% of the price of gold. The platinum pieces minted were gilded and put into circulation along with the regular gold coins of the same type.
