George III. 1760-1820. Silver Medal 1761, 3.84 g. Marriage of George III to Charlotte. Unsigned. Busts, conjoined and draped, he armoured. GEORGIVS . III . ET . CHARLOTTA. In exergue: REX . ET . REG. Rv. Cherub carry a scroll with inscription: FELICITAS . BRITANNIÆ; below a view of London. In exergue: DIIS AUSPICIBUS MDCCLXI. Plain edge. 25.9 mm. Eimer 691. BMH 17. Sehr schön / Very Fine. Feine Patina / Nicely toned.

George III, King of Great Britain and Ireland, and Charlotte, Princess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, were married on 8 September 1761. George first met his future wife on their wedding day. Two weeks later, they were both crowned in Westminster Abbey. The King and Queen had fifteen children - nine sons and six daughters.
