Anne, Princess Royal (and later by marriage Princess of Orange, 2 November 1709 - 12 January 1759) was the second child and eldest daughter of King George II of Great Britain and his consort Caroline of Ansbach. She died after a very short illness, leaving a son and a daughter, who are symbolized by the two young trees on the base of the monument. The emblems allude to her authority and accomplishments, which were varied and considerable.
