Empire of Persia, 1935-1979 Commemorative Medal

Commemorative Medal. Gold medal (Gold) 21.80 g. On the Occasion of the 5th Year of the Reign of Ahmad Shah Qajar (1898-1930, ruled from 1909 to 1925) in 1332 AH (1913/1914 AD). In the weight of 5 Tomans. Bust type. 1332 AH (1913/1914 AD). With horizontal suspension loop. Without ribbon. BWK3 42. Of the highest rarity, probably the only recorded specimen. NGC MS61.

This medal, sometimes referred to as the "Ahmad Shah Civil Merit Medal", is available in gold, silver and bronze. There are also two varieties of this medal, one with Ahmad's bust on the obverse, the other with the lion and the sun on the reverse. There is no further information about this medal.
