In Voraussicht, dass Waterlow & Sons in London während des 1. Weltkriegs keine Banknoten mehr in die Schweiz liefern würden, bereitete Orell Füssli diese Ausgabe mit Wilhelm Tell im linken Medaillon bereits 1917 vor. Die offizielle Emission dieses Typs erfolgte erst per Januar 1918. Richter/Kunzmann kennen in ihrem Buch nur eine einseitige Druckprobe.

In anticipation that Waterlow & Sons in London would no longer supply banknotes to Switzerland during the First World War, Orell Füssli prepared this edition with William Tell in the left-hand medallion already in 1917. The official issue of this type was in January 1918. Richter/Kunzmann only know a one-sided proof in their book.
