Die unabhängige Republik Texas existierte als souveräner Staat von 1836 bis 1845, nachdem sich das Land von Mexiko losgelöst hatte. Nach der Anexion durch die Vereinigten Staaten 1845 entbrannte in der Folge der Mexikanisch-Amerikanische Krieg, der mit dem Friedensvertrag von Guadeloupe Hidalgo vom 2. Februar 1848 endete.
The independent Republic of Texas existed as a sovereign state from 1836 to 1845 after the country separated from Mexico. In 1845, after integration into the United States, the Mexican-American War broke out, which ended with the Guadeloupe Peace Treaty of February 2, 1848.
