Da Tasmanien nicht durch die 1799 entdeckte Bass-Strasse von Australien getrennt abgebildet ist, wird die Entstehung dieser Medaille auf ca. 1800 datiert. As Tasmania is depicted as not separated from Australia by the Bass Street (discovered 1799). It is supposed, that this medal has been struck around 1800.
