Details

This is the largest Swiss gold coin. It stems from the collection of the Mayor Andreas Merian-Iselin (19.9.1742 until 25.2.1811). With the end of the Helvetian Republic Merian returned to Basel where he was elected Mayor in 1803 and 1806 by the Great Council.
