The legend on the obverse is unusually far under the bust of the emperor. Excessively rare, if not unique!! First we have seen. As far as we know this coins is the only one with this obverse and this reverse. Missing in „The Sincona collection``! Very minor planchet defect. Choice uncirculated with attractive yellow-blue-golden patina.

Poltina 1741, St. Petersburg Mint. 13.07g. Very interesting and important! The very first poltinas of Ioann III were struck by St. Petersburg Mint on the planchets of poltinas of the previous reign. Later such planchets were re-edged before being struck. This coin shows that these attempts failed, because the previous edge considerably remained. The failure could explane the extreme rarity of these coins. This very piece is most valuable to collectors, because a considerable part of the edge of poltina of Anna Ioannovna is very clear and visible on about 20% of the whole edge of the coin. Bitkin 40 (R1). Extremely rare. 20 roubles acc. to Iljin. 20 roubles acc. to Petrov. Most attractive specimen in good extremely fine condition.
