St. Saviour’s School in Southwark was a free grammar school for boys and was established as part of a broader movement to provide education to children in the London borough of Southwark. The school was associated with St. Saviour’s Church, which later became Southwark Cathedral.

This medal, in silver, was presented annually by the governors of the school to the boy who was considered the most deserving by his character and position in the school.
