From auction Monnaies et Médailles SA 32, Basel, October 1966, lot 68.

This wonderful coin was inspired by the Syracusan Arethusa heads of Euainetos and is the most beautiful of all the Siculo-Punic tetradrachms of Panormos. It was surely engraved by a Greek artist, possibly by a disciple of Euainetos himself. The swastika, which in the entire Siculo-Punic coinage only occurs on this reverse die, is a puzzle. Jenkins provides no explanation for its appearance, though it is, of course, a well-known solar symbol.
