Details
This rare and historically important cast lead medal of Charles V by Giovanni Bernardi depicts the capture of Tunis in 1535ce. On the obverse the laureate and armored Emperor is boldly given the title Africanus. On the reverse soldiers bring prisoners to the Emperor within a wreath border, 41mm. A later cast.
