Prince Abbas Mirza (1789-1833) was the second son of Fath-'Ali Shah Qajar and chosen to follow his father on the throne of Persia. Due to the fact that he died one year before his father in 1833, his eldest son Mohammad Shah Qajar succeeded Fath-'Ali Shah Qajar to the throne.
