Ex Auction Münzzentrum 69, 1990. Lot 604.
According to Münzzentrum the coin was found in the vicinity of Palmyra.
Coins with indictional years are known from the mints of Carthage and Ravenna. I know of no coins issued by Mauricius Tiberius with the letters COMOB in the exergue. Such pieces always refered to a western mint. Perhaps it is a very good copy of a skilled artisan working for a mint outside of the Byzantine realm. However no such mints are known in the East. But coins do travel.
