With the expertise by the experts of ”Shiryakov & Co” signed by I.V. Shiryakov. According to the expertise the coin ”due to its unicity represents highly great interest as a numismatic artifact”.There are two kinds of loose pairs of stamps of 1701 Chervonets known. Both pair of stamps were made with the same technique: Tsar portrait carved inward, eagle figure stuffed by small engraver's points with cutting tool adjustment, legend stuffed by engraver's points which relates to the same, common set that is also with finishing cutting. There is no mintmark on the coin, so the die engraver cannot be determined. However it is believed that it was made by Jean Georg Breüer, hallmarked master with the experience at the Braunschweig Mint (see in: Shiryakov I.V. Golden mintage of Kadashevski mint: 1701-1711. // State Historical Museum / Numismatic volume. T. XX. p. 69-75). Breüer presented in spring 1701 a 'project' to the Tsar, that the mint should use the gold imported from China as the material for the first Russian chervonets. This gold was imported as ingots ('boxes') and had a gold content of about 970/1000 and traces of silver. Likely it was almost no copper in the Chinese ingots, because it was obtained in China by means of melting up stream-gold that usually is a natural composition of gold and silver. By the suggestion of Jean Georg Breüer, chervonet's alloy had to suit imperial ('cesarski') ducat (approx. 986‰), and therefore chinese gold melting demanded to raise its alloyment by means of decreasing silver content. As the study of this two examples of 1701 chervonets shows, the pair of stamps at the State Historical Museum has gold alloy lower than expected and planned. Both coins have bigger percentage of silver and minute amount of copper added during meltback of ingots at the Kadashevski mint in capacity of ligature and fixed just on the milled edge. According to X-ray fluorescence analysis, chemical formula on the surface of museum pieces (sample on the obverse) is: Au - 96,78-96,79%; Ag - 3,79-3,78% (Shiryakov I.V. Ibid. P. 76). Chemical formula of composition on the surface of studied coin is somewhat different (consensus representative by 4 readings): Au - 97,450%; Ag - 2,135%; Cu - 0,309%. That means the melting of raw Chinese gold for 1701 chervonets was conducted individually for both pairs of stamps. The raw materials and melting process algorithm were the same. Such a coincidence can not be random. It proves better than any arguments that 1701 double chervonets featured in a study is authentic and it was produced just as a coin aimed for circulation, not a coin for awards, that did not have copper in their compound.

G. Haupt was a coin engraver and medalist to the Court of St. Petersburg under Peter the Great from about 1706 to 1710. His signature G.H. appears on some roubles and medals issued during these dates. Forrer mentioned a prize medal described by Iversen but there is no description in the Iversen book itself. The initials G.H. could also be attributed to Georg Hautsch, a famous engraver and medalist in Nuremberg between 1683 and 1712, who engraved also medals on Peter the Great. The piece is probably a later copy, although we did not find a piece in the literature that could have served as a model.
